Giving Tuesday 2024

Giving Tuesday: A Chance to Support the Next Generation of Theater Artists

This year, as we mark Giving Tuesday, we are reminded of the power of community, generosity, and the incredible impact that shared support can have on young artists. At Indiana Drama Club, our mission has always been to provide high-quality theater education and hands-on experiences to students in grades 6 through 12, with an emphasis on ensuring that these opportunities remain accessible to all, regardless of financial background. Today, we’re thrilled to share some exciting updates and give you a chance to be a part of our journey in shaping the next generation of theater talent.

A Heartfelt Thank You: $3,000 Grant from Christ Church Cathedral Strawberry Festival

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve received a generous $3,000 grant from the Christ Church Cathedral Strawberry Festival, a contribution that will make a significant impact on our students. This grant will help fund student attendance at the Indiana State Thespian Conference in January 2025. For many of our students, this conference represents a pivotal moment in their theater education—an opportunity to connect with like-minded peers, gain invaluable professional insights, and deepen their craft.

We are deeply grateful for this support, which will help cover travel, registration, and accommodation costs for students who may otherwise not be able to attend. This is exactly what we mean when we say that every opportunity we offer is designed to be as accessible as possible, helping students thrive regardless of their financial situation.

Looking Ahead: Your Support for 2025 and Beyond

As we look ahead to 2025, there are even more opportunities on the horizon, and we need your help to make them possible.

  1. 2025 IndyFringe Festival Show: We are already in the planning stages to submit a show to be performed at the 2025 IndyFringe Festival. IndyFringe is one of the most renowned arts festivals in Indianapolis, and being part of this vibrant community will give our students an incredible chance to perform on a professional stage, receive feedback from experienced theater artists, and showcase their hard work to a wider audience. However, to make this happen, we need to raise funds for production costs, venue fees, costumes, and other essential expenses. Every donation you make will go directly toward helping our students bring their stories to life at IndyFringe.

  2. South Eastern Theatre Conference (SETC) 2025/2026: Another major milestone for our students is attending the South Eastern Theatre Conference (SETC) in 2025 or 2026. This conference is one of the largest theater events in the country and offers countless opportunities for networking, workshops, auditions, and career advancement. By helping us raise funds for SETC attendance, you’re supporting our students in gaining exposure to national theater professionals and laying the groundwork for their future success in the performing arts.

Why Your Support Matters

At Indiana Drama Club, we believe in the transformative power of theater. But we also know that opportunities like these can be out of reach for many students, especially when they come with hefty price tags. That’s where you come in. Whether it's helping a student attend a prestigious conference or supporting the production of a full-length show, your donation makes all the difference.

Here’s what your support can do:

  • $50 can cover a student’s travel expenses for a conference.

  • $100 can help fund costumes or props for our productions.

  • $250 can assist with fees for a performance at IndyFringe.

  • $500 can provide full scholarships for students to attend workshops or conferences like SETC.

  • $1,000 can help underwrite the costs for a full-length production, including rehearsal space, set building, and technical support.

Together, we can make these life-changing opportunities possible for the students of Indiana Drama Club. Every donation, no matter the size, plays a critical role in making theater education accessible and affordable to young artists across Indiana.

How You Can Get Involved

This Giving Tuesday, we ask that you consider making a donation to Indiana Drama Club. Whether you’re able to contribute $5, $50, or more, your support will directly benefit our students. And if you’re unable to donate, there are still ways to help—spread the word! Share this post on social media, encourage friends and family to get involved, and help us raise awareness for the incredible work being done by our students and directors.

We also invite you to consider becoming a monthly donor to provide ongoing support throughout the year. Your regular contribution will help us plan more exciting opportunities, keep our programs affordable, and continue our mission of making high-quality theater education accessible to all.

A Final Thank You

We want to take a moment to say thank you—to our donors, our volunteers, our supporters, and everyone who has helped make Indiana Drama Club a place where young artists can dream big. The future of theater is bright, and it’s in the hands of these talented, passionate students. With your help, we can ensure that they have the resources, experiences, and support they need to succeed.

This Giving Tuesday, let’s make magic happen—one donation at a time.

Thank you for believing in the power of theater and the potential of young artists. Together, we can continue to inspire, educate, and create.
