We Are All Awesome!

Our students put IDC on the map at the 2024 Indiana State Thespian Conference by bringing home multiple awards including a pair of “Best of Shows.”

The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the United States.

Thespian troupes serve students in grades 9-12; Junior Thespian troupes serve students in grades 6 - 8. Festivals are held annually at the district, state and national levels. Each June the International Thespian Festival is held at the Indiana University. Membership currently stands at approximately 100,000 student members across 4,700 schools. The one millionth Thespian was inducted in 1976 and the two millionth Thespian was inducted in 2009. As of 2017, there have been over 2.3 million Thespians inducted.

The Indiana Drama Club warmly welcomes students from grades 6-12 who are enrolled in Indiana home schools as well as private or public schools without an active Thespian Troupe. Our troupe meets every third Wednesday of the month from 7-8 pm at Arts for Lawrence. We attend and compete at Regional and State Thespian Conferences.

Scholarships

Inducted Thespians may audition to receive a share of the $4,000 in scholarships awarded by EdTA and Indiana Thespians. Apply here.

Indiana Thespians hosts a college audition process for students wishing to study theatre after high school. Junior and Senior Thespians may participate in the process. Each college or university theatre program that participates in the process awards a minimum of two $500 scholarships, for students to study at their school. Most schools award much more than that. Annually, this program awards nearly $500,000 in scholarships to prospective students. Apply here.
