Winter Party

A Heartwarming Celebration of Community and Giving

On December 18, 2024, the Indiana Drama Club came together for our highly anticipated annual Winter Party, marking the second year in a row that student officers planned and led this heartwarming event. As always, the holiday spirit was alive and well, bringing joy, laughter, and a sense of togetherness to our entire club.

This year’s Winter Party was extra special because it wasn’t just about celebrating with friends; we also focused on giving back to those in need. In collaboration with Kids Voices, a local charity, we collected gifts to support a family in need—a mother and her two young children, a 3-year-old girl and a 7-month-old boy. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we were able to fulfill the 3-year-old girl’s Christmas wish of receiving a tricycle and a helmet. The heartfelt donations were a beautiful reminder of the power of community and the true meaning of the season.

Abby, one of our student expressed her feelings of joy about the project: "This makes me so happy to know all these gifts are going to make an amazing Christmas for these two kids." Her words truly captured the spirit of the event—making a difference in the lives of others while celebrating together as a community.

A Cozy Start to the Celebration

The night kicked off with a warm and cozy atmosphere, featuring delicious snacks and Christmas music curated by one of our officers. The playlist included all our favorite holiday tunes, setting the perfect mood for the evening ahead. We started the party by getting to know each other a little better, going around the room and sharing our favorite Christmas movies. Unsurprisingly, Elf was a top pick among our group—seems like we’re all fans of Buddy the Elf's infectious holiday spirit!

Games Galore!

After our icebreaker, the party quickly turned into a game-filled extravaganza! Many students brought in their favorite board games, and there was something for everyone. Laughter echoed throughout the room as everyone jumped into a friendly competition, meeting new friends and bonding over shared fun.

The Gingerbread Contest: A Sweet Challenge

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the Gingerbread Building Contest. Teams competed to create the most creative, festive gingerbread houses, but there was a twist: to earn more building supplies, teams had to answer Christmas trivia questions! From classic holiday questions to quirky fun facts, the trivia challenge kept everyone on their toes.

In the end, Team 1 emerged victorious, proudly showcasing their beautifully decorated gingerbread house. But the true winners were the memories made and the joy shared throughout the event.

A Picture-Perfect Ending

As the night came to a close, we gathered around our Christmas photo booth, taking plenty of festive pictures to remember the night by. With silly props, cheerful smiles, and a few goofy poses, we captured the essence of the evening—fun, laughter, and the spirit of the season.

Looking Ahead

This year’s Winter Party was a massive success, thanks to the hard work of our student officers and the generosity of our members. It was an event full of joy, giving, and community—and it’s an event we can’t wait to repeat in the years to come.

As Abby said, “This makes me so happy to know all these gifts are going to make an amazing Christmas for these two kids." With this kind of spirit, we’re excited to see how our club continues to grow and give back to our community in the future. Here’s to many more Winter Parties filled with friendship, fun, and the joy of making a difference!
