Thespian 2025 Regionals
Both Shows Advance to State!
What a season. What a team. What a weekend.
Indiana Drama Club showed up strong at this year’s Thespian Regional Competitions. Both our high school and middle school productions are officially advancing to State Conference after earning 2nd Place finishes in their divisions.
Let’s break it down.
High School Regionals
Late Night Confessions of a Bipolar Teen by Sean Abley
Greenfield Central High School, Saturday, November 22
Our high school troupe delivered a bold, vulnerable, and electric performance that left the room buzzing. Tackling complex themes with honesty and heart is no small task, especially in a competitive setting, and this cast rose to the challenge.
Their work earned 2nd Place Overall, securing their spot at State Conference.
Individual honors included:
Norah Skaggs — Best Supporting Performer Award
Emery Frazier — STO Shining Star Award
These recognitions speak volumes about the depth of talent and commitment within this ensemble. Every student on that stage brought intention, focus, and courage to the performance.
Middle School Regionals
As It Was by Lucy Atkinson
Avon Middle School North, Saturday, December 6
Our middle school troupe proved that storytelling power has nothing to do with age. Their performance was grounded, connected, and technically polished.
They also earned 2nd Place Overall, meaning they, too, are headed to State Conference.
Additional awards included:
Best Technical Award
Elena Roseboom — JSTO Shining Star Award
The technical recognition is especially exciting. It highlights the students working behind the scenes; the designers and crew, who made the world of the play come alive. Theater is a collaboration, and this award celebrates that beautifully.
More Than a Competition
Beyond the awards and placements, the days were filled with growth and connection. After performing, students participated in workshops while judges finalized scores. They learned from industry professionals, built new skills, and connected with fellow theater students from across the region.
Competitions can be intense. But what stood out most was the way our students supported one another, handled nerves with professionalism, and celebrated each other’s successes.
Second place at Regionals — twice — is something to be proud of. But the bigger win? The resilience, teamwork, and artistry these students continue to develop every time they step into a rehearsal room.
State Conference, here we come.
We couldn’t be prouder.
